Koodiyattam is a traditional Sanskrit theatre form that originated in the Indian state of Kerala. It is one of the oldest theatre forms in the world, dating back to the 9th century CE. Koodiyattam was declared a UNESCO Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity in 2001.
